About Toi Windham
From Texas to Taiwan, I’m a globetrotting pathfinder and the eternal optimist, encouraging people to think out of the box and explore the world and themselves. I take joy in building bridges, exploring new experiences, and loving all that life has to offer in this great big world.
I’m currently living in Taiwan and building my own consulting and events company. I’m 36 years old and newly married to the love of my life, something that I never thought existed. After I received my MBA in Taipei, I still continuously look for new opportunities to exercise my linguistics muscles and learn about other cultures. I’m a former athlete that loves improving my body and strength, with CrossFit, running, and weightlifting.
I’ve always been a traveler from a young age. My parents took us everywhere around the States, visiting family and friends and competing in regional and national track & field meets. We did a ton of road trips every year, and started flying alone with my twin at a young age. So far I’ve visited 42 of the 50 States, and one day want to check out the other 8 when I go back to the US.
As for international travel, I jumped head first in into the deep end. I got my first taste of international travel while in college in 2010, when I decided to go to Beijing, China for a summer abroad for an intensive Mandarin language program. I had already been studying Chinese for about 5 years at that point, so I was eager to put my language skills to real-life practice. After that trip, my world opened up, the travel bug bit me and became my best friend. From then on, I have continued to travel throughout Asia, moving to Liupanshui, Guizhou, China in 2012 for a year. Returned to Beijing for another language program in 2015. And ultimately moving to Taipei, Taiwan in September 2016 to complete an MBA program at NTNU (January 2019), which is where I currently live.
Over the years I have traveled to 50 countries, lived in 2 other countries outside of my home country (USA). I have experienced every type of travel, from backpacking around Southeast Asia, to road trips, to train hopping through China, sleeping in the Brazilian Amazon, and beyond.
I have lived my life fully, travelled without limits, found love in the most beautiful way, and want to share my stories with you.
It's time to:
Get Life
Get Love
And Get Lost
With love,
Toi Windham
